A Solar Energy Charging Hub at High Tech Campus
The High Tech Campus Eindhoven is home to a large community of companies, researchers and professionals working on innovative technologies. Sustainable mobility and energy infrastructure are becoming increasingly important in creating a future-proof working environment.
The Solar Energy Charging Hub contributes to this ambition by providing a central, sustainable charging location for DROP Mobility’s shared electric bikes. This facilitates sustainable transport on the High Tech Campus and to and from the station.
The solar canopy generates sustainable energy, while the integrated battery storage makes it possible to store this energy and use it when needed. This creates a flexible energy system that is less dependent on immediate availability of the electricity grid for charging.
For users of the shared mobility service, the result is simple: a recognisable and central location where DROP Mobility’s shared electric bikes can be charged and prepared for their next ride.

A complete solution for sustainable mobility
The delivery of the Solar Energy Charging Hub is an important step within the broader collaboration between DROP Mobility and NOVECTRA.
DROP Mobility supplies smart, shareable electric bikes and docking stations, including software, service, maintenance and insurance. NOVECTRA adds the energy infrastructure needed to support this form of electric mobility with locally generated sustainable energy. Together, this creates an integrated approach to sustainable mobility.
The Solar Energy Charging Hub is part of a broader collaboration between DROP Mobility, SURE Mobility and NOVECTRA, focused on developing scalable and sustainable mobility solutions for businesses, authorities and leisure partners.
The Solar Energy Charging Hub is an attractive alternative to traditional mobility infrastructure. Instead of treating energy generation, energy storage and mobility as separate issues, these components are brought together in one scalable solution.
