One of the largest rooftop solar projects in Zeeland
What began in 2022 as an ambitious project plan has now grown into a fully operational solar installation with battery storage. Together with Stroomdorpe, NOVECTRA has realised one of the largest rooftop solar projects in Zeeland, with no fewer than 4,500 solar panels spread across the available roof surfaces.
The project is an important step in Stroomdorpe’s sustainability ambitions and shows what is possible when client and installation partner work closely together from the outset.

From project plan to construction site
The first plans for this project were already drawn up in 2022. From the beginning, the ambition was clear: to use the available roofs as efficiently as possible for large-scale sustainable energy generation.
However, turning that ambition into a working installation required more than simply installing thousands of solar panels. The project called for thorough preparation, detailed technical planning and intensive collaboration between Stroomdorpe and NOVECTRA.

The teams worked together on the various technical and practical aspects of the installation. From mounting systems and cable routes to logistics, safety and the detailed planning of the work on site.
This extensive preparation formed a solid basis for the execution and ensured that the installation could be completed safely and efficiently.

The project in figures
The scale of the completed installation is perhaps best illustrated by the figures:
- 4,500 solar panels
- Inverters

- Approximately 60,000 metres of string cabling
- 18,432 screws
- More than 500 metres of cable trunking
- Large quantities of mounting and installation materials
Behind these figures lies a considerable amount of coordination, preparation and craftsmanship. Thousands of individual components had to come together in one integrated solar installation. Every panel, every cable and every connection forms part of the final system.
For the teams on site, this meant working systematically across the different roof surfaces, with constant attention to quality, safety and efficiency.
Project completed
The installation has now been fully completed, delivered and put into operation. With this, the roofs of Stroomdorpe contribute to the generation of sustainable energy in the Zeeland region.
The project shows the potential that existing commercial and industrial roofs offer within the energy transition. Instead of making additional land available, large rooftop solar installations can make use of existing roof surfaces that are already there.
